Mmabatho Palms gets brand new look!

July 14, 2009

Mmabatho Palms Hotel, Casino and Convention Resort, formerly known as the Tusk Mmabatho, in Mafikeng has seen an investment of more than R20 million, and the resort has been transformed into an oasis of entertainment!

The money was spent on a complete refurbishment and rebrand by Peermont, one of the leading casino and leisure companies in South Africa. Now, the casino floor is upgraded, stylish and features independent gaming areas, smoking and non-smoking facilities bursting with colour, and a revamped restaurant and bar area. These upgrades are certain to establish the resort as the entertainment Mecca of the North West. S

Star attractions are now available for casino visitors, including Joker Wild, Rooster Riches and Helen of Troy, while there are also Blackjack, Poker and Roulette tables. As part of the re-launch in June, the Live It Up and Win promotion offers visitors the opportunity to walk away with a huge R280 000 in cash prizes, a brand new Ford Bantam and two quad bikes.

According to Leon Nel, General Manager of Mmabatho Palms, “We also have some amazing monthly offers and gaming promotions in the pipeline with thousands in cash to be given away every month. Food festivals, side-splitting shows by leading South African comedians and other entertainment highlights are on the cards, placing Mmabatho Palms firmly on the “must-do” list for locals, business and leisure travellers”.

Along with the Live It Up and Win promotion, the resort will also be running the Cash Calabash slots tournament promotion, which will allow visitors playing the slots or tables to earn tickets, and these are entered into a draw. Winners of the draw can stay in the stylish and recently refurbished 4-star Peermont Walmont hotel at discounted rates.

The casino also has a new system that eliminates the need to carry cash.

There are also non-gaming alternatives suitable for the whole family, including a local pianist who entertains guests in the resort lobby with contemporary music three days a week. Two local bands, Impact and Silver Creek, also showcase their musical talent with electric, live performances outside the casino floor or at the restaurant. The new Motsweding Terrace Restaurant and Bar offers exquisite meals from the buffet spread or ala carte menu. There is also a tennis court, a full-sized soccer field and two sparkling pools. The kiddies corner Jolly Giraffe allows parents to leave their children with trained caregivers where activities include PlayStation Games, board games and puzzles.

Nel concludes that the gaming and entertainment experience at Mmabatho Palms is second to none in the North West Province.
