Simonsvlei partners with Boland’s art and culture festival!

CULTIVARIA COVERThe fourth annual Cultivaria Arts Festival will take place in Paarl in September. The preparations for the festival are in full swing, and will turn the city into a cultural and entertainment hub with local performers and artists showcasing their talents.

Local wine producer Simonsvlei has signed up this year as official wine supplier for the festival, and their award-winning wines will be served throughout as an additional attraction for festival-goers.

The cultural extravaganza takes place over four days, and kicks off once again with the spectacular Bovril Black Tie Dinner Table, for a thousand guests, in Paarl Main Street. The organisers of the dinner, which will have three courses, have paired the courses with some of the brilliant wines from Simonsvlei’s Premier single varietal range for a wonderful food and wine experience.

As the official supplier of the festival, Simonsvlei will also provide wines for the VIP lounge at the Heinz Emporium, and supply wines for food and wine pairings at the Bokomo Kitchen. The estate will also present their wines with four other top local producers at the emporium at the Faure stadium for tasting.

Simonsvlei marketing manager Danie Terblanche said that there is a perfect synergy between the Cultivaria festival and their wines, adding, “The festival provides the perfect platform for us to showcase our wines and we are delighted to become involved in such a successful event, which continues to grow from strength to strength each year.  Cultivaria has definitely placed Paarl on the map and has arguably become the most important event on our town’s calendar.  The festival targets a unique audience with significant correlation to Simonsvlei consumers and it therefore made sense to broaden our involvement and include the festival in our broader marketing strategy”.

Cultivaria offers visitors a uniquely Boland experience, with a combination of wine, food and culture. This was also an encouragement for Simonsvlei’s association with the festival. Winemakers of Simonsvlei will once again be part of the action, as Simonsvlei will include them in their marketing activities to recognise their groundbreaking work. Winemaker Helena Neethling starred in the inspirational Women in Wine project last year, raising over R50 000 in funds for the Cultivaria bursary fund.
