Special discount for Queen It’s A Kinda Magic!

October 7, 2009

Queen NewThe Joburg Theatre is offering a special discount for its Queen It’s A Kinda Magic show from 7 to 25 October. Now, the public can purchase two tickets for the price of one on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

The tribute show takes audiences back in time, helping them relive the energy, excitement and theatrics of Freddie Mercury and his great rock band.

According to the show’s producer John van Grinsven, “The idea was to recreate a Queen concert, ten years after the death of legendary singer Freddie Mercury. Not just any Queen concert, but one that encapsulated every magic moment that has stayed with us from the extraordinary career of this unique band. The cast members were chosen and began the task of locating every piece of audio and visual history that would give them a glimpse into the magic and mystery of this legendary rock band”.

The production has electrified audiences since 2005 in Australia, France, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Germany, Dubai, Canada, the United States, Hong Kong, and many more.

Interest in the band has never been higher, and Queen upstaged The Beatles as the “greatest British band of all time” according to a BBC Radio 2 poll.

This theatrical attraction features 21st Century lighting and sound, and a cast that takes magnetism to new heights. It recreates the 1986 world tour of Freddie Mercury and Queen. It allows the audience to experience the hypnotic passion of Craig Pesco as Freddie Mercury, the amazing guitar solos of Travis Hair and Brian May, the tumultuous rhythms of Brett Millican as Roger Taylor, the smooth bass inputs of Mitch Cairns as John Deacon, and all the unbelievable and memorable harmonies the world has come to know and love.

The show opens on 7 October 2009 and runs until 25 October 2009. Tickets for this limited season are priced from R170 per person, with the best stalls available at a bargain price of R270! Get tickets NOW from Computicket. For the special discount on Wednesdays and Thursdays, contact the theatre directly on 011 877 6854.
